SERIES
● In this series of large-scale acrylic paintings I explored and experimented with portraiture and capturing expressions of various human emotions.
● I started with a more realist painting of ''Fear'' but then connected each emotion to a certain colour to create more abstract, stylised pieces to represent the emotion rather than the face.
● The resulting dualistic realist-abstract character of these experimental pieces is further highlighted in the technique.
● I used paint very freely, texturally and expressively in the backgrounds to emphasize the emotions. The realistic faces with slight caricature elements create even more expression for the emotions.
